Tania has enjoyed a mixed life on the pro
squash tour since rounding off her junior career in fine style by
winning the world title in Rio de Janeiro in 1997. The
Stamford star boasts a string of successes - including an
appearance in the British Open final in 2002, a career-high ranking
of four in 2002, a Commonwealth Game silver medal in 2002 (and
bronze in 2006), the British National title in 2006, and runners-up
berths in successive Malaysian Opens in 2006 and 2007.
In her third appearance for England in the
World Team Championships in 2006, Tania led her country to success
for the first time for six years. However continuity has been
hampered by a catalogue of illnesses and injuries that have
prevented her from competing a great deal in between the various
highpoints. But last year, despite suffering with breathing
problems during the event, Tania recorded her best ever World Open
run in Madrid, reaching the semi-finals in her ninth appearance in
the event.
