A former World Number One, David Palmer has been Australia’s leading player since the turn of the century and became the first Australian for twenty years to win the British Open title when he landed the prestigious prize in 2001.

Palmer won the first of his three World crowns the following year in a thrilling final against Scotland’s John White, showing his typical battling qualities to fight back from two games down, a feat he repeated in 2006 to defeat Gregory Gaultier.

The Australian has been one of the most consistent players on the tour over the last decade, reaching a staggering 43 finals and winning 20 of them. Palmer has enjoed a solid start to 2008 reaching the final of the EBS Dayton Open before losing to Thierry Lincou.
