The current World Number, Amr Shabana is also a three time and reigning World Champion.  Having claimed his first title in Pakistan in 2003, Shabana reclaimed his crown two years later in Hong Kong and again in 2007 in Bermuda.

A left hander, Shabana showed immense promise as a youngster reaching the British Under 14 and British Under 19 Open finals. However it was as a senior in 2003 that he really stamped his authority on the game, enjoying a fantastic year which culminated in success at the World Championships.

The following year proved disappointing by Shabana’s own high standards but he was back with a bang in 2005 winning four PSA events before rounding the year off in style when claiming his second World Championship. The success led to the Giza based player rising to a career-high No.1 in the World Rankings, becoming the first ever Egyptian to hold the position.

Shabana was in unstoppable form at the end of last year winning his last four events in a row, including the World Open title in Bermuda when he beat Frenchman Gregory Gaultier 3-0.
